Location: Burton On Trent
Duration:3-4 months contract
Salary: Negotiable

Hours: Mon to Thurs 8am-4.30pm, Friday 8am-1pm.

Hybrid working available.

Our Engineering client based in Barton Under Needwood, require an experienced Financial Accountant for approx. 3-4 months.

Applicants must have experience with Actuals Vs Forecasting, as well as month end close activities.

Position Summary:

Responsible for delivering monthly financial accounts, annual statutory accounts, and the management of external audit activities for the Operating Unit. Ensuring accurate and timely financial information to the Site Leadership team and UK Group. Helping maintain a robust control environment to ensure full auditability of financial data.

Key Accountabilities/ responsibilities:

Responsible for managing the monthly financial close process to ensure that financial information is supplied to the organisation in a timely and effective manner.
Responsible for the month end management accounts submission into HFM
Maintain the financial ledgers of the operating unit to support the month end reporting process and ensure all accounts are reconciled and reviewed.
Coordinate and support the Shared Service Team for month end and reporting activities.
Support Accounts receivable activities and provide weekly cash forecasting for UK group.
Lead the annual Budget and STRAP activities and monthly Forecast with the site leadership.
Monthly Reporting Pack to analyse and review variances actuals vs budget/forecast.
Ensure that overhead spend vs budget is communicated to budget holders monthly.
Meet all internal and external reporting requirements within the given deadlines including statutory accounts, VAT returns, National Statistics and other reporting returns.
Manage the completion of the Annual Taxation reports for the Operating Unit.
Act as main point of contact for the audit and coordinate all audit information requirements.
Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and the relevant statutory accounting standards (UK & US GAAP)
Manage the Operating Units Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements.
Manage the chart of accounts and the cost centre structure of the Business.
Perform other duties within your capability, training or experience that may be reasonably requested.
Adhere to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.
Responsible for Handling and Storage of Data in line with Data Protection legislation

Qualifications/Education required:

Qualified by experience - Essential
Part Qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) - Desirable
