Financial Accountant

Role Overview:

Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting a long term client of ours in their search for a experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting the year-end audit and ensuring accurate statutory accounts preparation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant with a strong background in audit and statutory reporting to contribute to their finance function and work within a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and assist with the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Prepare statutory accounts in accordance with relevant financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and oversee month-end closing processes as required.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, maintaining a strong internal control environment.
• Provide support to the finance team on ad hoc projects and financial reporting initiatives as needed.

Key Requirements:

• Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Experience: Proven experience in an audit-focused financial accounting role, with a strong background in statutory accounts preparation.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Working Arrangement:

This position offers hybrid working, 3 days on site in Birmingham and 2 days from home. They are looking for someone who is commutable from site and available to start mid November.
