Junior Accountant

I have a great opportunity for a junior accountant to join a fresh produce business with a global presence. As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with our financial policies. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant and other team members to manage day-to-day accounting tasks, with a particular focus on utilising Sage accounting software.

What will your day look like?

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports.
• Perform data entry and ensure accuracy of financial information in Sage and Tradabase.
• Reconcile bank statements and assist with monthly close processes.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and systems.

Is this you?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably with familiarity in using Sage.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within the role.
