The company:
We are recruiting for a dedicated charity in Gloucestershire, offering a range of accessible facilities and programs for children and adults with disabilities and additional needs.

We are now seeking a Finance Manager to lead our finance function and work closely with our Chair of Trustees and General Manager. This role will include overseeing one Finance Administrator, ensuring their development and success in the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial oversight and guidance across the charity
  • Line-manage the Finance Administrator, overseeing their work, training, and development
  • Oversee monthly payroll
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts with analysis for Board review
  • Manage contracts to ensure timely income generation
  • Oversee annual budgeting and the business planning cycle
  • Manage ongoing services such as VAT, audit, banking, and investments
  • Ensure compliance with statutory financial responsibilities and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate the production of annual accounts in collaboration with auditors
  • Maintain adherence to UK tax, accounting, and relevant legislation
  • Identify, assess, and manage financial risks to the charity
  • Drive process improvements and foster a value-for-money culture
  • Support financial aspects of grant applications and submissions

About You:
You are a seasoned finance professional with significant experience in a senior financial role, including payroll and pension management. You hold a recognized financial or accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, CIMA, ACCA) and are proficient in Xero accounting software. Analytical and strategic, you have a proven ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as you ll represent the charity at relevant meetings.

Experience within the not-for-profit sector and a passion for community wellbeing and support would be advantageous.
