Avencia Consulting are partnered with a leading Specialty Insurer based in Dublin City Centre who are looking for an FP&A Expense Analyst to join on a permanent basis.

The role

This position is a collaborative role providing support to all business functions. The analyst role will assist in the timely, accurate, and complete reporting of data and the coordination and preparation of the annual plan and reforecasts.

Key accountabilities

  • Analyse financial data and provide insights that facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Assist in identifying and providing explanations for variances to budget.
  • Assist in creating forecasting templates for discussions with department heads during the planning and reforecasting processes.
  • Support in budget discussions and preparations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with departments heads and management across the organisation to ensure effective communication and collaboration on financial matters.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to their implementation.
  • Contribute to Anaplan design and testing with a view to improving.
  • Support management and the FP&A team with ad hoc tasks.

Skills & experience

  • Part Qualified, pursuing an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications is required, particularly Excel, including lookups, pivots and other functions to assist with data analysis & presentation.
  • Familiarity with financial planning systems (like Anaplan) is a plus but not necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and take initiative.
  • Strong communication skills to build relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Previous Insurance industry experience not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing tasks effectively within deadlines.
