Our client, a prominent player in the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join their team in Torquay. This permanent role involves providing crucial support to the Financial Controller to deliver valuable insights and analysis into business operations. Key Responsibilities:
Promote and display the company values: Customer focus, Integrity, Action, Unity, Precision
Analysis of project progress (including funding income recognition)
Support the Financial Controller with the production of key financial data and analysis
Provide assistance with month-end routines, including VAT and payroll
Financial control, reporting and analysis of research and development projects (including project revenue recognition)
Preparation of research project grant claims
Support the Financial Controller with the production of monthly financial reporting and analysis
Support the preparation of the business' annual budget and forecasts
Assist with the preparation of labour and overhead rates for both inventory valuation and pricing purposes
Support the Financial Controller with the preparation of the financial elements of bids and proposals
Prepare and present ad hoc requests for financial analysis from the business in support of its objectives
Job Requirements:
Qualified Accountant (UK CIMA or equivalent)
Experience in all aspects of the General Ledger and the month-end close process
Experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable)
Understanding of project accounting and funding (desirable)
Familiarity with Syspro ERP system (desirable)
