Assistant Accountant Role - Permanent Role - Leading SME part of a Group - Hereford, Herefordshire - Hays
Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a successful and growing SME that are part of a group to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Assistant Accountant for their Hereford, Herefordshire site reporting directly to the Finance Manager. A varied and hands-on role managing and processing all transactional finance processes for the business and involving month-end preparation, projects and supporting process improvement. Your new role Your key duties will involve management of purchase ledger, including entering invoices, balance monthly supplier statements, producing monthly payment runs and processing daily bank payments. You will manage sales ledgers, including raising daily invoices, chasing debt when needed and maintaining internal spreadsheets. You will be involved in supporting with accruals, prepayments, maintaining the fixed asset register, month-end up to trial balance, bank reconciliations and assisting with annual audit and budget preparation. You will assist with dealing with financial queries, general financial administration, supporting process improvement and ad-hoc duties for senior management. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this permanent Assistant Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position, willingness to learn and adapt to business needs, with knowledge of financial systems and MS Excel skills. You will have strong communication skills to build both internal/external relationships, be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines and have key attention to detail. Ideally, you will be AAT qualified or working towards completion or qualified by experience. Experience within Sage packages and within a small/medium-sized business would be advantageous but not essential. What you'll get in return This permanent Assistant Accountant role offers a salary between £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependable on experience, based in Hereford, Herefordshire.
