An established and growing organisation in Barnsley are looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Management Accountant.
Committed to excellence and innovation in the finance sector. Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join their team.

Your new role
Reporting to and working closely with the Financial Controller you will assist in preparing insightful financials and managing financial controls. Key duties will include supporting with the month-end process including balance sheet reconciliations and accruals and prepayments; stock and costing analysis; budgeting and forecasting; variance analysis; and supporting with transactional and bookkeeping tasks.

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and audits.
  • Maintain and update financial records and ledgers.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense claims.
  • Support the implementation of financial controls and procedures.

    • What you'll need to succeed
    Previous experience in a management accounting role, analysing data and maintaining tight control of reconciliations or relevant experience in accountancy.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel- manipulation and analysis of data, Pivot Tables and lookups.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You will be AAT Qualified and studying for your CIMA/ACCA qualification or have equivalent practical experience.
