Description: Do you have experience in Management Accounts, VAT and Audit?

I am working with a business based in Derby that are looking for a Management Accountant to join their team on a part time basis - 3 days a week (8am - 4pm).

The business will consider someone with strong bookkeeping knowledge, as well as Part Qualified and Qualified candidates. This role could also suit someone looking to move from practice to indusrty. You will report directly into the Finance Director and be a key part of the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain management accounts and report to the Director of Finance
  • Manage and process VAT returns and ensure compliance with VAT regulations
  • Prepare and initiate VAT registration
  • Oversee accruals and prepayments, ensuring accurate reporting in financial statements
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insightful analysis
  • Assist with annual audit
  • Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and reporting

The ideal candidate:

  • Part Qualified / Qualified
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant, with a strong focus on VAT and management accounts
  • Solid understanding of accruals and prepayments
  • Audit experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Package on offer:

  • Salary between 28,000 - 40,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
