SF Group are excited to be working with a manufacturing business based in Redditch on their search for a Financial Controller.

Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Redditch

As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the business. You will lead a small finance team and be responsible for providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This is a hands-on role that will require a proactive approach to managing both the day-to-day accounting functions and long-term financial planning, with a focus on ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reports
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and compliance with statutory requirements
• Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance with SOX regulations, ensuring robust internal controls and reporting processes
• Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and cost control initiatives
• Lead and mentor a finance team, ensuring development and efficiency
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party stakeholders
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function

The Successful Applicant:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, SOX compliance, budgeting, and forecasting
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Analytical mindset with the ability to provide strategic financial insights
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
