Senior Accountant

About the firm:

Simpson Judge have partnered with one of the UK's leading accountancy firms who are looking to expand their Accounts and Outsourcing team in Cheltenham. If you have trained and qualified with a smaller Practice and are interested in joining a bigger firm with bigger clients, this is the one for you.

About the opportunity:

• Assisting in the preparation of more complex statutory accounts and review of disclosures under a range of accounting frameworks, including FRS102 and IFRS
• Assist with the review of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Assisting with the preparation, review and submission of VAT and employer taxes i.e., P11D and PSA
• Assisting in the preparation or review of monthly/quarterly management reports for a range of clients
• Review of bookkeeping duties using a variety of accounting software e.g. Xero, Sage
• Client relationship building and assisting management with maintenance of client portfolios.
• Providing assistance, coaching and mentoring to junior staff as and when required

Benefits:

• Basic salary of 43,000- 48,000 plus a performance related bonus of up to 8%
• Flexibility to work from home for 2-3 days a week
• Clear and fast progression through to Client Manager
• 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays and Christmas closure

Requirements:

• ACA/ACCA Qualified
• Basic knowledge of accounting packages and statutory accounts preparation software (ideally Xero)
• Basic knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and FRS 102
