Description: A family-run business based in Scarborough is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their team based in their local, Scarborough offices. This is a unique and engaging opportunity that would allow the successful individual to make a meaningful impact within the business and further. On offer is a salary of up to 50,000, alongside annual leave and attractive, Monday to Friday working hours.

As Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the business. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Monitoring financial performance and providing insights to optimise profitability.
  • Supervising accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and financial reporting requirements.
  • Collaborating with senior management to drive strategic financial decisions.
  • Implementing and enhancing internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
  • Other duties, as required.
To be successful in this Financial Controller role, you will ideally have/be:

  • Proven experience in a senior financial role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software such as Xero, Sage and Quickbooks, as well MS Excel knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders and wider team.
  • Relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is advantageous, but not essential. Individuals who are qualified by experience (QBE) or AAT qualified will equally be considered.
This role would be well suited to an individual who is currently in a Finance Manager or Financial Controller position and looking for a new opportunity. You may also be a Management Accountant, Financial Accountant or working in Practice seeking a step up into a new role in industry.

Based in Scarborough, this role is commutable from Pickering, Malton, Whitby, Norton, Filey, Hunmanby and surrounding areas. This is also accessible via regular public transport links, with car parking on-site too.
