Avencia Consulting are recruiting on behalf of a well known Insurer who are looking to hire an FP&A Accountant to join on a permanent basis.
The role
Reporting to the Group FP&A Manager, the Group FP&A Accountant and associated team are responsible for driving delivery of all aspects of financial planning and analysis for the Group.
Key accountabilities
Assist in the development of annual forecasts and long-term financial plans.
Liaising with underwriters on premium planning and monitoring actual vs benchmark.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
Assist in the preparation of financial board materials.
Driving the enhancement and development of MI to support the business.
Playing a key role in further development of the planning and analysis system
Supporting the Group FP&A Manager in all aspects of the Group financial planning and forecasting processes, including legal entities.
Influencing internal audit controls.
Work with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial information and provide insights to support business decisions.
Development of key analysis models to help inform decision making.
Involvement in additional finance projects as required.
Skills & experience
University Degree and a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
Experience with (re)insurance preferred
Experience with Anaplan and Power BI preferred
Strong understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications, including robust Excel skills
Must be able to work effectively both independently and within a small team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial data to diverse audiences
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Able to deliver accurate and thoughtful work within tight deadlines
