Page Personnel are currently recruiting for an admirable Investment Bank who are based in London City Centre and are searching for a VAT Accountant to join their team on a 6 month temporary basis. The desirable candidate will hold VAT accounting reconciliations experience and will come from a Financial Services background.

Job Description

As VAT Accountant, your key duties will include but will not be limited to:

• Prepare UK VAT returns using the Partial Exemption Special Method.
• Compile VAT/GST return packs for multiple international regions and support other indirect tax requirements.
• Submit Spanish SII reports weekly.
• Support annual capital goods adjustments.
• Reconcile VAT/GST accounts monthly and prepare compliance files.
• Review reverse charge invoices and sales transactions monthly for accurate VAT reporting.
• Document VAT impact of inter-company transactions and ensure accurate records.
• Assist with AP invoicing and VAT queries.
• Collaborate with the finance systems team to implement updates.
• Run reports and support broader tax reporting needs.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will ideally:

• Hold Basic knowledge and understanding of the UK VAT system.
• Experience in non-UK VAT compliance obligations across Europe/Asia Pacific preferable.
• Workday system experience is desirable and advanced proficiency with MS Excel required.
• Motivated professional who can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Part qualified Tax / Accounting professional.
• Experienced in VAT accounting and bookkeeping.
• Available to start the role immediately.
