Broster Buchanan are hiring for a Tax Manager role with an exciting fashion house based in the Greater Manchester Area.
This is the first in-house tax hire for this fast-growing luxury brand, and as such is a great opportunity to grow a team and progress to a Head of Tax role.
The position comes with a salary of circa 65k- 80k plus 20% bonus and a great benefits package.
The role can be considered on either a full-time or part-time basis.
This is a pivotal hire for the business and this person will work closely with the CFO in managing all tax-related matters - This person will need to be hands-on with some elements of compliance, but largely will be working on tax planning, tax strategy, business partnering and tax projects - So a really interesting mix of tax work.
Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Reporting
Manage and prepare timely tax filings, including:
Management out outsourced corporate tax compliance
Preparation and submission of monthly UK VAT returns
Preparation and submission of international VAT/sales tax returns and liaising with our compliance partners where relevant
Oversee and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations in all regions where the company operates
Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax related filings
Review and manage tax provision calculations/balance sheet reconciliations
Work on transfer pricing related topics
Oversee and manage tax projects, working with internal colleagues and stakeholders, and external advisers where appropriate
Work with finance team to improve/ensure appropriate tax related control/review procedures in place
Own tax elements of business systems, eg ownership of tax code maintenance
Tax Planning & Strategy
Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiency improvements
Assist the wider business with decision making on commercial aspects to ensure most tax efficient outcome
Keep up-to-date with tax law changes and advise the business on potential impacts.
Tax Risk Management
Proactively identify tax risks and opportunities to mitigate exposure to tax audits and penalties.
Manage tax audits and work with external auditors and tax authorities as required
Implement best practices for tax reporting and documentation to reduce the risk of dispute
Cross-Department Collaboration
Collaborate closely with relevant teams, including but not limited to, finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.
Provide tax advice and guidance to various departments on matters such as pricing, vendor contracts, and customer transactions.
Work with existing team to improve/ensure appropriate tax related control/review procedures in place
Work with the CFO on ad-hoc projects
Work with HR & Payroll functions and external advisors on employment related taxation
Provide ad-hoc training and advice to Finance Team on relevant taxation matters
Assist with ad hoc analysis/be involved in ad hoc projects as required.
