Job Description

Everyday as our Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing the tax compliance and reporting for various European countries within Sage. You will provide management of tax compliance, including reporting for the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with the completion of tax incentives (R&D and patent box). Additionally, you will serve as a liaison with external auditors for both local statutory accounts and group reporting.

This will be a hybrid position with 3 days in our Newcastle or London office.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee the technical aspects of UK tax returns, including CFC review, imputed interest, anti-hybrid regulations, and patent box claims, ensuring compliance with other UK tax filings and payments. Additionally, you will manage outsourced corporate tax returns for countries like Germany, Austria, Ireland, and India, working with external advisers to understand local tax positions and identify risks or opportunities. You'll also monitor and manage the Group's R&D claims and patent box claims, working closely with a global adviser to ensure smooth and timely completion of these processes.

This role involves completing year-end and month-end reporting for the aforementioned countries as well as managing external auditors, and overseeing any local tax authority audits.

This role requires proficiency in English, both written and verbal, and a qualified tax professional with over six years of corporate tax experience, preferably including transfer pricing and reporting knowledge from a "big 4" firm. You should have an international mindset, with the ability to work effectively with dispersed, multicultural, and multifunctional teams. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels are essential, especially in a matrix organization where managing multiple stakeholders is key.

You should be results-oriented, adaptable, and capable of taking the initiative. Experience in developing and coaching a team is required, along with an accountancy and/or tax qualification. A bachelor's or master's degree is also necessary for this position.
