The Role

Provide investment expertise and perform project-based work associated with LTIM's management of investment risk and oversight of market investment activity.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Present output and findings to the wider LTIM team and finance departments on relevant issues.
  2. Contribute to LTIM's stakeholder relationships, including attending meetings with managing agents.
  3. Provide technical investment management expertise to member services to assist with understanding requests and conducting research for the admittance of new financial instruments and securities into FAL.
  4. Produce and develop management information needed for oversight, monitor risk against internal appetites, and act as a Risk Representative for LTIM. Prepare management information for key stakeholders including Committees, PRA, overseas regulators, analyst community, and Credit Rating Agencies.
  5. Aid in the preparation of Investment Committee papers to be reviewed by the CIO.
  6. Perform thematic reviews of market investments to identify potential risks to Lloyd's and recommend mitigating actions.
  7. Conduct analyses on market investments to identify risk exposures and report to the CIO with qualitative overlay assessment.
  8. Maintain and lead the Market Risk Oversight process ensuring that documentation is kept up to date.
  9. Responsible for the Oversight framework to include Member and Central asset monitoring.
  10. Responsible for reviewing and initial assessment of investment risk and portfolio proposals to ensure alignment with the Prudent Person Principle and Membership & Underwriting requirements.
  11. Liaise with Managing agents & Member universe to ensure consistent communication and interpretation of guidance is appropriate.
  12. Monitor market compliance with investment principles based oversight and provide guidance to other team members on reviews of all agents.
  13. Lead stakeholder communication to ensure all departments are kept up to date with evolving risk profiles.

Skills

  1. Technical investment management expertise.

  5. Effective stakeholder management skills.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office.
  7. Ability to organize workload and manage to strict deadlines.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills are key given the collaborative nature of the role.

Knowledge

  1. Knowledge of a broad range of investment asset classes and their application.
  2. Knowledge of best practice investment methodologies and successful governance and control.
  3. Knowledge of general strategic issues/developments within the Financial Services sector.

Experience

  1. Experience of analyzing asset risk for fixed income securities is required.
  2. Experience of stakeholder management.
  3. Experience of project management.
  4. Experience of communicating complex financial and business data.
