The Role Accounts Assistant (part-time)

We are excited to announce a part-time opportunity (job share) for an Accounts Assistant who is eager to contribute their skills and grow with our successful client based in Basildon.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations, ensuring accuracy in our accounts, and providing exceptional service to our team and clients.

This position offers flexible hours and a supportive environment where collaboration is encouraged and valued. You will get the chance to work closely with the finance team, helping to keep our processes smooth and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.
• Preparing and processing invoices and payments in a timely manner.
• Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports and budgets.
• Communicating with suppliers and clients regarding account inquiries.
• Assisting in managing accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Utilising accounting software for data entry and financial reporting.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an accounting or finance-related role is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage50.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate well with others.
• Basic understanding of financial principles and practices.
• Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and tasks.

The Package

• £13.00 to £15.00 per hour
• Flexible on days and hours, roughly 5 hours per day, 3 working days a week (ideally Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)
• 20 pro-rata days holiday plus bank holidays
