Our Finance and Procurement Office is integral to managing income, expenditure, financial performance, and procurement processes, ensuring value for money and regulatory compliance.

Role Overview: We seek an experienced Management Accountant to support our Professional Services, including the Library, Central Administration, and Student Support Services on an interim basis. Your key responsibilities will include planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Annual Planning: Assist departments in the annual planning process, produce planning templates, and lead pay forecasts. Help create business cases for additional resources and communicate budgets.
  2. Financial Forecasting: Oversee and coordinate forecasts, ensuring accurate and reasonable projections.
  3. Budget Monitoring: Monitor actual spend and income against budgets, producing quarterly reports and informing department heads.
  4. International Activities: Account for initiatives aimed at raising the University's international profile.
  5. Widening Participation: Support the Widening Participation Office in allocating and accounting for related activities.
  6. Financial Statements: Assist in preparing annual financial statements and management accounts, explaining variances.
  7. Performance Analysis: Provide performance analysis for the Director of Finance and University executives.
  8. Web Content Maintenance: Help maintain and update the Finance & Procurement Office web pages.
  9. Collaboration: Work with Finance Managers to develop information sharing and mutual cooperation.
