Bookkeeper

Bennett and Game has the pleasure of working with an Accountancy Practice located in Dudley, who are now seeking a Bookkeeper to join them on a full-time, permanent basis. The firm are offering a competitive starting salary.

• Preparation of a regular allocation of mid to large sized companies bookkeeping
• Prepare VAT Registration forms and add new clients to HMRC government gateway for VAT.
• Completion of simple bookkeeping reviews ensuring the files are complete, all controls accounts are reconciled and the VAT is reasonable to previous periods
• Improving regular jobs in the portfolio and ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Communicating any issues back to manager/director where necessary.
• Assisting more junior members of staff with bookkeeping queries.
• Preparation of quotes for bookkeeping services using the standard template, subject to manager/director review.
• Allocated jobs are completed by internal deadlines set, working over where necessary.

• Previous experience working in practice.
• Ideally AAT qualified or QBE
• Competent using Xero, QuickBooks or other web-based accounting software.
• Confident using excel spreadsheets.

• Competitive salary dependant on skills and experience (Industry standard for this kind of position usually being between 25-33k)
• 9am - 5pm - 1 hour lunch break
• 25 days annual leave including 3-day Christmas shut down + bank holidays
