Head of Investment Risk

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and manage the investment risk function in London.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the investment risk and oversight function for a wide range of investment funds across multiple asset classes.
2. Help define individual fund risk profiles.
3. Analyse suitability of risks undertaken in view of the fund's target market.
4. Lead and maintain efficient risk portfolio analytics functions.
5. Lead and manage the continuous improvement of internal risk frameworks.
6. Review all new funds to assess whether they are within the firm's risk appetite and ensure the portfolio is appropriately stress tested.
7. Manage, motivate, teach and develop a team of Managers and Analysts.
8. Extensive experience in a portfolio management role would be preferable.
9. Proven knowledge and understanding of the contributors to investment risk.
10. Experience in developing and coaching team members.
11. Strong analytical background.
12. Degree educated; Finance, Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering or Business related degree preferred.
13. Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM an advantage.
14. Excellent communication skills; ability to present technical information in a non-technical manner.
