An exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a global engineering consultancy specializing in advanced propulsion systems and related technologies. The role involves ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strong financial controls, and supporting the business's decision-making processes.
The successful candidate will manage a team of three, be responsible for both UK and US finance operations, and play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepare monthly management and project accounts - Compile operational board reports on performance for both regions - Participate in project WIP meetings and oversee project accounting - Drive finance's involvement in projects, from bids to completion - Lead annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes, including rolling forecasts - Develop and implement consistent financial accounting and controls - Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and purchasing processes - Support tax planning, particularly for R&D-related activities - Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors for year-end audits - Assist in business support development and integration with parent company finance teams - Review and update company policies as needed - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department
REQUIREMENTS - CIMA or ACCA qualified - Proven track record in management accounting, reconciliation, month-end processes, forecasting, project accounting, and data analysis - Advanced Excel knowledge, including VBA and Macros - Ability to handle complex financial data and communicate effectively with various levels of staff - Experience leading a team
DESIRABLE SKILLS (NOT ESSENTIAL) - Experience in a consultancy or similar business environment. - Familiarity with Sage 200 software. - Knowledge of US finance operations and regulations
