Our client an establised global organisation is looking for a committed and skilled Fund Accountant to join their permanent team based in Southampton. This is an excellent chance to contribute significantly within a professional and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing accounting support for the accounting teams across various jurisdictions.
Managing client relationships and being the primary contact for allocated portfolios, including conducting regular in-person client meetings.
Planning all deadlines and work allocations for the clients.
Producing monthly and quarterly NAVs.
Overseeing and preparing consolidated reports and financial statements at both asset and fund levels, including reviewing work produced by team members.
Preparing statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS or UK GAAP.
Compiling and analysing financial information underlying the financial statements, including the treatment of business transactions.
Assisting with bookkeeping and reporting prepared by junior team members.
Implementing policies, procedures, and checklists where necessary.
Handling bank debt covenant reporting and investor tax, CIS, and VAT reporting.
Leading year-end audits and organising the take-on and set-up of new clients.
Ensuring all regulatory and statutory reporting deadlines and filings are met.
Planning, monitoring deadlines, and coaching and developing junior staff members.
As part of your duties, you must ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures and meet all personal AML obligations.
Job Requirements:
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent) qualification with strong technical accounting skills, ideally within real estate funds or asset management environments.
Comprehensive understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards, including statutory financial statement preparation and auditor liaison.
Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondences, procedures manuals, and performance measurement reports at both asset and fund levels.
Strong Excel knowledge.
Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of situations with little precedence.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Confident and proactive approach with a professional attitude to work.
Highly organised with good time management and planning skills.
Experience in on-the-job training and leading team members.
Deep understanding of agreements related to private equity and real estate structures, including interpreting LPAs, debt documentation, sale and purchase agreements, and leases.
Knowledge of Sun Systems and/or Yardi is an advantage.
