Overview
My client is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Finance Analyst to join their Birmingham based team on a hybrid working basis. The successful applicant will join an established team within their cost functions team.
Reporting into the Head of Finance for Cost Functions, this role will be critical in ensuring that costs are accurately reported, and that future spend is accurately forecasted, with risks to both P&L and cash flow reported in a timely manner. The role will require working across a wide stakeholder base which includes business leads and their teams in addition to support teams. The successful candidate will be hands-on, with the ability to complete the regular tasks but have an inquisitive nature and not be afraid to challenge the status quo and seeks ways to improve our ways of working.


Key Responsibilities

  • Month-end and quarterly processes
  • "hands-on" finance analysis across Cost Functions
  • Full understanding of variances, drivers and corrective actions
  • Prepare and present insightful analysis of operating spend and headcount
  • Identify and quantify risks & opportunities?
  • Support the budget and forecasting process, including full year out-turn
  • Support and provide information for monthly & quarterly Cost Functions reviews
  • Develop analysis & financial models to support business development and sensitivity analysis
  • Ensure robust control with focus on financial, management accounting and cost
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes, reporting and analysis
  • Become a trusted partner with senior stakeholders to understand critical business needs


Professional Qualifications / Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) - 2 to 3 years PQE
  • Good knowledge of finance (budgeting, planning, month end & financial analysis)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines and requests for information
  • Ability to build strong relationship across the business
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt to change
  • Experience in supporting a global and complex organisation
