Hays Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a public sector organisation with the recruitment of a finance assistant to join their organisation for a minimum of 6 months on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate for the Finance Officer role will be a proactive and organised individual, responsible for a variety of finance tasks including sales and purchase ledger management, bank and cash reconciliations, and raising sales invoices. You will use accounting software to ensure accurate financial processing, support month-end and year-end analysis, and assist with internal recharging and supplier payments. Strong communication, IT, and numeracy skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain effective relationships and a positive approach to continuous improvement. Your new role
As Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for:
Operate across multiple accounting systems and use general software applications, including MS Office (Excel and Word).
Support the Transactional team with Accounts Payable and Income functions.
Ensure accurate and organised financial information.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
Manage and prioritise workloads under pressure.

Has previous experience in a finance-related role.
Well-organised and methodical with good administration skills.
Possesses excellent attention to detail.
Has strong communication skills and the ability to manage workloads efficiently.
