Assistant Accountant

Michael Page are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join one of the UK's market leaders.

The purpose of this role is to support the finance manager with end to end management accounts, ad hoc commercial analysis and future business partnering activities.

Description

Assistant Accountant duties include:

• Assisting the Finance Manager with end to end management accounts - taking these to trial balance for sign off by the finance manager (with opportunity to take on more management accounts responsibility over time).
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Assisting with overseeing an AP / AR Clerk.
• Handling and interpreting large data sets.
• Commercial analysis of projects & contracts.
• Ad hoc commercial analysis as required.
• Expense reporting.
• Transactional processing as required.
• Supporting month end and year end reporting.

Profile

The successful Assistant Accountant candidate will:

• Be part qualified ACCA / CIMA or be in the final stages of AAT.
• Have a proven track record in a similar role.
• Be an excellent communicator (written and verbal).
• Be proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
• Have working knowledge of financial systems - Xero would be beneficial.
