Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 PRO RATA

Part time, Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 3 pm, although these hours can be flexible

We're looking for a skilled Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant to join our client's team and help keep the accounts running smoothly. If you thrive on accuracy, enjoy problem-solving, and love making sense of financial data, this could be the perfect role for you!

This is a new position so you will be able to make it your own. We are looking for a bookkeeper with experience of Xero.

What You ll Be Doing:

• Keeping our financial records accurate and up to date.
• Managing invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations.
• Preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards.
• Handling VAT returns and staying on top of HMRC regulations.
• Processing payroll, including wages, deductions, and pension contributions.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting.
• Liaising with external auditors, accountants, and HMRC when needed.
• Keeping all financial information confidential and secure.

What We re Looking For:

• At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in the UK.
• Experience working with Xero.
• Ideally experienced in construction or property sectors, although this is not essential
• AAT qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles, VAT, and financial regulations.
• An eagle eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving.
• Great organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
