Job description

Commercial Analysts are usually qualified professionals who provide financial and accounting services to a commercial organisation. Commercial Analysts offer a particularly commercial focus and often work closely with sales and marketing teams.

Commercial Analysts are multi skilled financial specialists who are able to quickly understand how a business or department functions and analyse performance with the aim of identifying risks and proposing improvements in order to improve profitability.

Duties include:

• Working closely with and providing ongoing support to non financial managers in departments such as sales and marketing.
• Providing the information and related analysis and opinion to support and influence key decision making regarding future strategy.
• Sales and margin analysis.
• Taking ownership of budgeting and forecasting.
• Variance reporting and analysis.
• Profit and loss accounting.
• Cost reporting and analysis.
• Identifying risk and suggesting areas for improvement.
• Managing change to systems and processes.

Qualifications

Most Commercial Analyst roles call for qualified and/or chartered accountants with excellent commercial and business acumen as well as relevant commercial experience.
