Job description

Group Reporting Accountants are technical accountants who work in the group finance functions for large companies or organisations which operate many branches or divisions reporting into the central function.

Group Reporting Accountants are responsible for consolidating financial reports and delivering management and statutory accounts for internal and external bodies, including board level reporting and financial statements.

Typical duties include:

  • Preparing consolidated published and subsidiary accounts using established standards. (E.g. International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Producing monthly management accounts.
  • Financial and management accounting.
  • Financial analysis for senior managers and directors.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory reporting regulations.
  • Frequent liaison with senior managers.
  • Developing financial reporting systems and processes.

Group Reporting Accountants must maintain a high level of technical accounting expertise and must always be experienced in using recognised and statutory reporting standards and methodologies.

Qualifications

Group Reporting Accountants are usually qualified accountants with expertise in and experience of regulatory reporting standards and requirements.
